In Marathi, an Indian language, Sanchār means mobility. Edusanchār is a series of apps designed for mobile devices. Edusanchār hopes to completely redefine mobile learning, especially for higher education in media studies.
In today's fast paced life, there is almost no time left to curl up with a nice book and enjoy a few hours of reading. However, even in this world of exceedingly visual communication involving more images, both, still and moving, the power of the written word, or text still attracts and mesmerises. The visual may speak a thousand words, but a few words can bring to mind thousands of images.
The youth have adapted to this lifestyle and also adopted the mobile phone as their primary tool of communication. It has also become their tool of choice for their studies. I contend that the youth too, love to read, but on their mobile phones. Using their mobile phones, they can read as well as share the content. The need for connectivity in universal and if enough content is provided to the youth on their mobiles, in a manner they like, they will certainly love to read.
With this objective, and logic, I have started making these apps under the name of EduSanchár QUICKLEARN apps. The first of the series, an Android app the help media students quickly learn and revise several communication and media studies, is out on Google Play Store. I am sure, communication and media students will find it immensely useful.
I will be adding more theories and keep working on the app to improve it, make it more interactive and easier to use.
